About
About SI.info
SI.info is an independent reference for the Super Intelligence era. We explain what SI means, who is building it, how it is governed and what it means for everyone else, in plain English and with sources.
Why we exist
On September 29, 2026, the U.S. government began calling artificial intelligence "Super Intelligence". Overnight, millions of people met a new term, and an old one ("superintelligence") took on a confusing second meaning. Most coverage is either breathless hype or partisan argument. We think people deserve a calm, accurate reference they can trust and cite.
What we publish
- Explainers on the big questions: what SI is, how it differs from AI and from superintelligence, and what the new rules say.
- The SI Glossary: every important term, defined in plain language, with its former "AI" name.
- Reference trackers for frontier models, labs and policy, updated when facts change.
- Free tools like the AI → SI Converter.
- The SI Briefing, our news and analysis, and the weekly The SI Brief newsletter.
Our principles
- Neutral. We don't take sides in political debates about SI. We report what supporters and critics say and link to the primary sources so you can judge for yourself.
- Sourced. Factual claims link to original documents: executive orders, laws, company announcements and peer-reviewed research.
- Dated. Every page shows when it was last updated or verified. When facts change, we update the page and the date.
- Independent. SI.info is not affiliated with any government agency, political party or company we write about.
