- Executive Order 14434: Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence In effect Requires federal agencies to say “Super Intelligence” and “SI” instead of “AI”, and orders a proposed legal definition of SI within 60 days.
- Sanders–Casar bill to ban artificial superintelligence Proposed The Sanders–Casar bill (September 2026) would ban artificial superintelligence, pause advanced SI development and create a federal Department of AI.
- National Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence (Legislative Recommendations) Proposed The White House's March 2026 legislative recommendations to Congress: seven objectives for national SI law, from child safety to copyright, with preemption of state laws.
- Executive Order 14365: Ensuring a National Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence In effect December 2025 order setting a minimally burdensome national SI policy, targeting conflicting state laws and seeking legislation to preempt them.
- The Genesis Mission (Executive Order 14363) In effect The Genesis Mission, launched by executive order in November 2025, pairs national-lab supercomputers and scientific data with SI to speed up discovery.
- America's AI Action Plan In effect The July 2025 White House plan with 90+ federal actions to accelerate SI innovation, build infrastructure and lead in international SI diplomacy and security.
State
- Colorado AI Act (SB 24-205), repealed and replaced by SB 26-189 Signed Colorado's landmark 2024 AI Act never took effect. In May 2026 it was repealed and replaced by a narrower, business-friendly SI law that starts January 1, 2027.
- New York RAISE Act (Responsible AI Safety and Education Act) Signed New York's RAISE Act requires large frontier SI developers to publish safety protocols and report incidents within 72 hours. Effective January 1, 2027.
- California SB 53: Transparency in Frontier Artificial Intelligence Act In effect California SB 53 requires the largest frontier SI developers to publish safety frameworks, report incidents and protect whistleblowers. In effect since 2026.
