Artificial intelligence is changing how our agency works. This AI strategy explains how an artificial intelligence system can help staff, which AI-powered tools we approved, and how we follow the EU AI Act when working with partners such as Mistral AI. Generative AI pilots and new AI agents will be reviewed by the Chief AI Officer.-

How the converter works
The tool applies the rule in Section 2(a) of Executive Order 14434: agencies "shall use 'Super Intelligence' and 'SI' in place of 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'AI'". In practice that means:
- "artificial intelligence" becomes "Super Intelligence", capitalized as in the order (switch this off to keep your original casing).
- "AI" becomes "SI", including in compounds like "AI-powered" → "SI-powered", possessives ("AI's") and plurals ("AIs" → "SIs").
- Articles are fixed: "an artificial intelligence tool" becomes "a Super Intelligence tool". "An AI tool" becomes "an SI tool", because "SI" is pronounced "ess-eye".
- Lower-case "ai" is never touched, so web addresses like
x.ai, names like Ai Weiwei and words like "said" or "Thailand" stay as they are.
What it deliberately leaves alone
The order covers the government's own language. It does not rename companies, products or laws, and it says that previously issued regulations, contracts and grants do not need to be changed. So by default the converter keeps 48 company and product names (such as OpenAI, Mistral AI and Meta AI) and 19 titles of laws and official documents (such as the EU AI Act and the National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Act). It also leaves AGI and ASI alone, because they name different concepts.
Always read the result before you publish. Direct quotations, citations and anything with legal force should keep their original wording. Our SI Style Guide covers the edge cases.

Frequently asked questions
What does the AI to SI converter do?
It rewrites text using the terminology in Executive Order 14434: "Artificial Intelligence" becomes "Super Intelligence" and "AI" becomes "SI". It fixes "a/an" where needed and, by default, leaves company names and the titles of laws untouched.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you paste is uploaded, stored or logged.
Do I have to use "SI" instead of "AI"?
Only if you write official documents for a U.S. federal executive agency, which the order binds. Businesses, media, other governments and the public are free to keep using "AI". Many contractors and communications teams choose to match federal usage when they write to agencies.
Why doesn't it change "OpenAI" or the "EU AI Act"?
Proper names and the titles of laws are not covered by the order. Section 2(b) also says previously issued regulations, contracts and other historical documents do not need to be altered. You can switch both protections off if you want a literal swap.
Does it convert AGI and ASI?
No. Artificial general intelligence (AGI) and artificial superintelligence (ASI) are different concepts from the "AI" the order renames, so they are left as they are.
